SOFTEON Fresher Interview Questions – Part – III

Here in this blog we are discussing about SOFTEON Fresher Interview Questions –

Part – I. Some of them are :

11. If 9x-3y=12 and 3x-5y=7 then 6x-2y = ?

      (a) 5        (b) 4        (c) 2          (d) 8

           SOLUTION :

              On solving   9x – 3y  =  12

                                       3x – 5y  =   7    we get

                                               9x – 3 y   =   12      ———————- (i)

                                               9x – 15 y  =   21     ———————   (ii)

                                                     12 y    =    – 9

                                                  =>    y   =  -3 / 4

 ( I )  =>          9 x – 3y   =   12                 =>    9x  – 3 ( – 3 / 4)   =   12

                                     9x  + ( 9 / 4 )   =    12

                                                9x            =   12  –  9 / 4

                                                9x            =    (48  – 9) / 4   = 39 / 4

                                                  X            =  39 / 36

                                                           x   =  13 /12

         Now   6x – 2y   =   6 ( 13 / 12 )  – 2 ( – 3/ 4 )

                    6x – 2y   =  13 / 2  + 3 / 2   =   16  / 2

                    6x – 2y   =  8

 12 .  Successive discounts of 20% and 15% are equal to a single discount of

        (a) 30%         (b) 32%              (c) 34%          (d) 35%

             SOLUTION :

                    If  the price of an article   =    Rs. 100

          After 20 % discount , the price  =   Rs. 100  –  (100 * 20 / 100)      =   100 – 20

                                                                        =  Rs. 80

          Again after  15 % discount the price    =   Rs. 80  – (  80 * 15 / 100 )  =  80 –  12

                                                                                    =    Rs. 68

      Hence   Discount amount will be Rs. 100 – 68   = Rs. 34

                                                                                                   =  34 %  of  Rs. 100

13 . What is the selling price of a car? If the cost of the car is Rs.60 and a profit of 10% over selling price is earned?

   (a) 66           (b) 6              (c) 166                      (d) 66.5

    SOLUTION :

            Cost price of the car   =  Rs. 60

                         Profit %            =   10 %

                             =>   Profit   =  Rs. 60 * ( 10 / 100 )   =  Rs. 6

              Thus ,  Selling price   =  Cost price + Profit

                                                        =   Rs. 60 + Rs. 6

                 =>   Selling Price     =  Rs. 66

14)    If a=2/3b , b=2/3c, and c=2/3d what part of d is b ?

            (a) 8/27              (b) 4/9            (c) 2/3         (d) 7/5

     SOLUTION :

               Given ,  a  = (2/3)b

                             b  = (2/3 )c

                             c   = (2/3)d

      Now              b   =  (2/3)c    =  (2 / 3)(2 / 3)d

                                                       = ( 4 / 9 ) d

     Hence       b : d   =  4 : 9     =  4 /9
