1. Two trains of 100m long , moving in the opposite directions crosses each other in 8 seconds. One is moving twice as fast as the other. Then the speed of the faster train will be ?
SOLUTION :
Let the speed of the slower train be x m /sec
Then the speed of the faster train will be 2x m/ sec
Total distance = 100 + 100 = 200 m
Their relative speed = 3x m/sec
Total time taken = 8 seconds
- Speed = Distance / Time taken
- 3x = 200 / 8
- 3x = 25 => x = 25 /3 m/sec
2x = 50 /3 m/sec
= 50/3 * 18/5
- 2x = 60 kmph
Hence the speed of the faster train = 60 kmph
