Here in blog we are discussing about ADF – Interview Aptitude Questions – Payilagam – Part – II . Some of them are discussed below :

1.From a group of 7 men and 6 women , 5 persons are to be selected to form a committee so that at least three men are there in a committee. In how many ways that can be done ?

SOLUTION :

We may have ( 3 men and 2 women ) or ( 4 men and 1 woman ) or ( 5 men only)

Required number of ways = ( 7C3 * 6C2 )+ ( 7C4 * 6C1 ) + ( 7C5)
=    (7*6*5 x 6*2)                       (7*6*5*4 x 6)                   (7*6)

———————    +            ———————–     +      ——–

(1*2*3 x 1*2)                                 (1*2*3)                            (1*2)

= 525 + 210 + 21 = 756

2. Two trains running in the opposite directions crosses a man standing on a platform in 27 seconds and 17 seconds respectively and crosses each other in 23 seconds. The ratio of their speeds is ?

SOLUTION:
Distance = Speed * Time

Let the speeds of the two trains be x m/sec and y m/sech respectively. Then the length of the first train = 27x meters and the second train will be 17y meters.

Hence, Total time taken by both the trains             27x + 17y            23 seconds
=>     ———— =
x + y
=> 27x + 17y = 23x + 23y
=> 4x = 6y
=> 2x = 3y
Thus the required ratio will be 3:2

3. Two trains of equal length running in the same direction at 46 kmph and 36 kmph respectively. The fastest train crosses the slowest train in 36 seconds. Find the length of the train .

SOLUTION :

Let the length of both the trains be x meters.
Total distance covered = x + x = 2x in 36 seconds.
Speed of the first train = 46 kmph
Speed of the second train = 36 kmph

Their relative speed = 46 – 36 = 10 kmph
= 10 * 5/18

= 25/9 m/sec

Speed of the train = Distance / Total time taken
25 /9 = 2x / 36
25 * 4 = 2x
=> x = 50 meters

4. Find the odd one out : 362,446,221,314,551,133

SOLUTION:
The odd one out is 314 because in all the other given numbers the middle number is the product of the first and the last number.

5. Find the next number in the series : 2,5,9,19,37, ?

SOLUTION :

We can write 2 => 2×2 + 1 = 5
=> 5 x 2 – 1 = 9
=> 9×2 + 1 = 19
=> 19×2 – 1 = 37
=> 37×2 + 1 = 75
